Each kit contains five 100ml bottles of mystery wines, prepared using a Coravin Vinitas. This means the wines you receive are “clones” of the wine from the original bottle. You’ll also get a unique entry code (your key to taking part), and The Wine Stig’s guidance to lead you through the blind tasting.

Swirl, Sniff, Sip each wine, then answer a series of questions from the optional answers that might cover aspects such as grape variety, blend, origin, vintage, and more, all leading you closer to identifying the wine.

You can play however you like! For a fun night with friends, we will be releasing shortly some sort of Wine Evening Kit. Keep your eye on the shop as these will be perfect for groups who want to compete together.

Can you put a price on fame and glory? You are purchasing an entry into a blind wine tasting competition. Your kit gives you access to the wines and the interactive competition, where your knowledge and intuition are put to the test.

The Wine Stig is your mysterious guide through the competition. He (or she!) won’t reveal their identity, but they’ll drop hints, provide insights, and challenge your palate like no one else. If you think you’ve got a guess as to who they are, you can add it to your Opti Profile.

Your Opti Profile lets you personalise your Wine Options experience—and if you complete it, you’ll unlock a “free hint or two” in the competition. Plus, we’ve included 21 fun (non-quiz) Questions to help you explore your wine drinking style, or lack of it. You’ll find these tabs on the website.

All being well, we will calculate your score and shoot you over to the Awards page where you found out more or less how you went. At the bottom of that page, there are buttons for each of the Wines you’ve tasted (1-5), if you hit those you’ll get a bit of a run down from The Wine Stig about the wine….sort of a soft reveal. We will send you an email detailing your Award Status and how you scored. In due course you’ll receive the full results, producer details, and insights from The Wine Stig  in our e-magazine, Stig-mata. This will also tell you where to source the wines you liked and feature feedback from other blind tasters—the good, the bad, and the hilarious.

Finals are planned towards the end of the year. The top 10% will get an automatic invite and we will also issue a number of “wildcards”…everyone can have an off day…

Your performance in any Edition could earn you a Golden Ticket to the Grand Final at the end of the year.

Yes! Depending on the Edition, prizes may include wine, exclusive tastings, or even entry into the Grand Final. The best blind tasters will always be rewarded.
